On August 20,2019, economist Abdullah Hamadok took over as Sudan's new Prime Minister (15th), when military officer Omar al-Bashir was forced to step down from presidential elections following furious protests, a three-year transition to civilian rule had to face.
Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan was sworn in as the leader of the new sovereign council as his appointment.
