Narendra Modi launches RuPay card in UAE
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has launched the RuPay Card, becoming the first country in the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East to introduce the Indian indigenous system of electronic payments.
The RuPay Card Scheme was launched in 2012 to cater to the vision of the domestic, open and multilateral system of payments of the Reserve Bank of India.
India has already launched RuPay cards in Singapore and Bhutan.
