The United Nations celebrates the International Day against Nuclear Testing on 29 August every year.
2010 marked the opening ceremony of the International Day against Nuclear Testing.
It is celebrated to expand awareness and education about the effects of nuclear weapon test blasts or any other nuclear explosions and the need for their termination as one of the means to achieve the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world. .
